A Study on the Influence of Infants' Visual Media Overindulgence on their General Development and Social & Emotional Behavior

Abstract
This study investigated the influence of infants' visual media overindulgence on their general development and social & emotional behavior. 222 mothers with infants(1-2 years), who were residing in 00 Province, participated in this study. The main results are as follows: First, infants' visual overindulgence was negatively correlated with the sociality of K-ASQ, and it was positively correlated with the activity?impulsivity, aggression?defiance, peer aggression (externalizing behavior problems), and depression?withdrawal, anxiety (internalizing behavior problems) of ITSEA. Second, infants' visual media overindulgence positively influenced the personal-social developmental problem of K-ASQ. Third, it also positively influenced the activity? impulsivity, aggression?defiance and peer aggression (externalizing behavior problems) and
depression?withdrawal and anxiety (internalizing behavior problems) of ITSEA. The limitations of the study and suggestions future research were discussed.
